ABNB Federal Credit Union recently hosted a special event for the official unveiling of a new mural on the branch created by local artist Troy Summerell, a.k.a. "OnieTonie" of OnieTonie Designs. The event took place at ABNB’s Wards Corner Branch located at 129 West Little Creek Road in Norfolk. The event featured a special VIP Preview unveiling followed by the public portion of the program with interactive elements, entertainment, a local food truck, a local brewery for onsite tastings, a radio remote with Shaggy from Z104, plus a register-to-win giveaway of OnieTonie merchandise.

“ABNB is excited to engage with the local Wards Corner community and highlight award winning art from our neighbors in Hampton Roads,” stated Charles A. Mallon, Jr. President & CEO of ABNB. “We have a long and storied history of supporting the arts and entertainment in the communities we serve and were pleased to partner with Troy Summerell of OnieTonie Designs to add a bit of color and character to our Wards Corner branch,” concluded Mallon.

Grabbing inspiration from surfing the world’s oceans, the original hand-painted designs featured on murals, clothing, coloring pages, stickers and countless other mediums, have generated an endless number of smiles on the faces of both children and adults for almost a decade. Summerell was born in Norfolk and is grateful for the opportunity to put up another large piece of positive artwork there.
